How can I get this plugin to show custom post types?

I have custom post type called "Strains" with category id=11. When I put the following code ([catlist id=11]) on a page it shows nothing. The plugin is displaying non-custom post types just fine.

Everything I need is displaying (the post titles in the correct category along with their thumbnails), but now I need to align the thumbnails with the post titles. Ideally I would like to display them in a table-like format, with the post title on the left and the thumbnail on the right (which it currently does), but I need the title in the vertical middle of the thumbnail.

When I do this manually in HTML, I set "align=middle" in the tag. I know we can tweak the default php template, but I'm not familiar enough with php to make this adjustment. Can anyone help?

Hi guys,

Having a small problem with this great plugin, I'd like to be able to align the thumbnails to the left. If you look at this page you can see what's going on at the minute: http://applebrides.com/spokane-venues/ Currently the thumbnail comes after the title, I need all the text to align to the right of the thumbnail so there's not so much wasted space.

Any help appreciated. The thumbnails I have there took a bit of work to get to display to that size, I can help anyone with that in return.

List Category Posts - Using templates

Templates for the List Category Plugin are searched for in your WordPress theme's folder. You should create a folder named list-category-posts under 'wp-content/themes/your-theme-folder'.

Template files are .php files.

You can use the included template as an example to start. You can find it in the plugin's template folder under the name default.php. To use a template, use this code:
[catlist id=1 template=templatename]
If the template file were templatename.php.

You can have as many different templates as you want, and use them in different pages and posts. The template code is pretty well documented, so if you're a bit familiar with HTML and PHP, you'll have no problems creating your own template. I'm planning on reworking the template system in order to have a really user friendly way to create templates, but in the meantime, I'm slowly improving the existing system.

Hi.
There is no way to use LIST CATEGORY POSTS with QTRANSLATE plugin, because in widget or pages your plugin can retrieve language correctly, so titles of posts and pages are displayed twice.

Any suggestion to fix this?
In this forum I can read a solution, but I think that is for an older version of your plugin.

Thank you for this very useful and flexible plugin.

I notice that as one adds a new post, the list grows and the page becomes very long.
Would you consider adding a feature that specifies how many posts to show per page?

For example, if there were 10 posts per page, and a total of 37 posts to show, it would show the first page with these numbers at the bottom:

1 2 3 4

One could then click on say the 3 and see the posts 31 to 40.

What do you think?

I wish i found this plugin long ago.. its been a nightmare trying to work with creating custom magazine styled category pages but with this plugin i think im going to make it!!!!

im using

and it looks like this

im not sure what elements i would start to tinker with to get them lined up properly.. im kinda stuck, could anyone give me a couple fingers in the right direction? do i have to create a class for them or something?

Hola amigos, soy Paulo Riquelme, vivo en la octava región de Chile, soy novatillo en debian e incluso hasta en foros, quiero ver si alguien sabe como ayudarme por favor,
instalé debian squeeze y haciendo un
lspci
no muestra la tarjeta de red inalámbrica que existe en mi computador, estoy hablando de un notebook compaq 515 y la tarjeta wifi corresponde a una broadcom bcm4312.
En otros sistemas operativos como ubuntu por ejemplo hago lspci y sí aparece, en ubuntu también luego instalo los drivers y funciona bien, pero debian ni sabe que está ahí. Lo malo es que quiero usar debian.

¿Cómo hago para que la reconozca como un dispositivo que existe?

Problem displaying fields

I have set up and installed the plugin, and created a template in my themes directory. My problem is that with the default, and with my new template, the only field that is showing is the title with a link to the post. When I look at the template, i see date, author, etc. should be displaying, but they aren't. I know that the template is working because I just appended the string with some random text and it showed up. so for some reason, only the title is showing and not the rest. Any thoughts?

List category thumbnails does not work

I'm also using "Generate Post Thumbnails" plugin (which I tried deactivating, but that didn't fix the problem)
I've also tried turning off the dynamic image resizer that came with the theme I'm using.

Any idea why this feature-that-I'd-really-really love doesn't work?

Hi, this plugin is perfect for archiving my site's content, so thank you for it! I have run into a snag though.

Is there a way to only list posts from 2 categories? For example, my posts have more than one category. I want list only the posts with categories A and B, instead of having it list all the posts from A and all the posts from B, just the ones marked in categories A and B?

Does that make sense? My site is about video games and so I want to categorize them by game, but I only want to list the developer interviews relating to each game. So category "interviews" and "game name" are the two variables I want my listed posts to be.

Thanks for any help, if anyone has a solution I'd love to hear it.

I love this plugin. I have it setup to list upcoming events for various groups on my website. However, if there are no posts for a particular category, it looks a little confusing. Is there a way to return the word "none" when there are no posts for a category?

Hi,

I have tried to make my own template for this plugin, but i cant get this to work. I am trying to get the output to display in div's, so that i can display the output in two columns by using a fixed width and float left on the div's.

This is the code i am using in one of my pages:

[catlist id=3 orderby=title order=asc content=yes numberposts=4 template=mytemplate]

When i look in the sourcecode, the output is still outputed with ul/li and nothing from my mytemplate.php file is beeing used. Why is this happening? Should the template system be working by now?

Offset didn't work with numberposts

I had a [catlist id=141 offset=1 numberposts= -1 order=DESC...

and had to take out the numberposts to get the offset to work. Posting in case anyone else has this problem.

Thumbnails and Thesis

I'm using the Thesis theme and can't get thumbnails to display with the post excerpts. I read through some posts here (and on the Thesis forum) and removed the "s" from "thumbnails" and added this function to my custom_functions.php file:

Here's what the shortcode looks like on the page:

with or without displaying post thumbnails, if i turn on excerpts im getting the captions with the caption code for images displaying in the post excerpt. i saw another person with the same problem on the WordPress forum

for example:
"[caption id="attachment_1209" align="alignright" width="300" caption="sample caption text"][/caption]"

Hi,

I'm really new to word press in general and this plugin looks absolutely perfect. I am using Wordpress 3.2.1 and installed it. I am trying to have Word Press just list the posts from category 4 so the only thing I wrote on that page is [catlist id=4] but its still showing me all of the posts that have been created from my site, not just that category. I also tried to write the name of the category to see if it would take that and it didn't. Am I fundamentally doing something wrong here? I'm really new to shortcodes on all that.

I'm wondering if its my version of wordpress thats the problem.

it probably is not that hard to figure out, but i don't know my way around php. so, say if i make a custom php that i will use in my wordpress site, how do i insert the code directly into the php, i will not be adding any content to the page trough wordpress directly, so i need to add it in the php? probably something like this > 'ListCategoryPosts', 'catlist_func' ? i really have no idea :)

Hi. I haven't tried this plugin yet, but I intend to since it looks pretty good.

This plugin does a lot that I need, but to completely replace some other plugins I've been using, I'd really like this plugin to also be able to:

*select specific posts/pages/custom post types by ID (so I can place 1, 2, or a few posts selectively within another page)
*support custom post types (the plugin may already do that as part of post types selection, just checking to be sure)
*limit excerpt to number of words or letters (this isn't as important to me as the other feature requests)
